A group of residents has launched a campaign calling on people to oppose a proposed ‘township’ on a former army base between Oakham and Stamford.
Fight4Rutland is described as “dedicated to achieving the best for Rutland and Rutlanders in every way” and is against what it says is “the disastrous over-development planned for St George’s Barracks”.
The campaign aim is to prevent 2,300 homes being built between North Luffenham and Edith Weston, which the group feels is far too many and will become a ‘dormitory town’.
