Car careers off road and smashes into Rutland hedge




A driver careered off the road and ended up nose down in a hedge in Rutland this morning (Tuesday).

The white Skoda Fabia veered off the A6121 between Essendine and Ryhall, Leicestershire Police said.

Stunned motorists on their way to work spotted the battered hatchback buried in the hedge just feet away from the busy road.

The incident was reported just after 7am and there were no injuries reported.

"We got a call from a member of the public alerting us that the incident had happened," said a police spokesman.

"There was just one vehicle involved.

"Anyone who saw what happened or knows anything about the incident can call police on 101 quoting Incident 87."
