Car fire on the A1 at Stretton

Firefighters were today (Saturday, August 1) called to the A1 at Stretton after a car caught fire.

The Ford C-Max was destroyed in the blaze, which happened just before 6am.

Five metres of fence panelling was also damaged.

Fire crews from Stamford, Corby Glen and Grantham attended and extinguished it used hose reel jets. The firefighters also needed to use breathing apparatus.

It was a busy night for the crews from Corby Glen and Grantham, which were also called to an accident at Colsterworth.
