A young model was delighted to finish second in her category after impressing catwalk judges in a national competition.
Amber Davison, 16, from Cottesmore, took part in the natural beauty section of the Top Model UK contest in London at the weekend.
She competed against 27 other hopefuls in her category, taking part in three catwalk sessions. Two featured clothes by up and coming designers and a third involved self-styled beachwear or lingerie.
Amber said: “I wasn’t expecting the result. I just went down to see how I would go.
“I didn’t recognise when they called my name.”
This was Amber’s first real catwalk experience. She said: “The first time I walked I was quite nervous but the more I did it, the more fun it was.”
Rutland County College pupil Amber was one of 160 models to feature in the final, having been selected from 4,000 entrants.
Amber, who is originally from Dundee but now lives in Cottesmore, has already had some interest locally. Beautician Georgia Atkins is using her photos to help promote her website for her clinic at Kendrew Barracks in Cottesmore.
Amber has also secured sponsorship from Body Tone Warehouse in her hometown of Dundee.
She hopes the Top Model exposure will boost her catwalk career.
