Police hunting for three men who used a car to smash through the front door of a business in an attempt to steal a cash machine have released CCTV footage of the raid in progress.

The above image shows the attempted raid, which took place at Lands’ End, in Lands End Way, Oakham, between 1.45am and 2.15am on Friday, December 4. A vehicle, thought to be a silver or grey Peugeot, reversed into the front glass doors of the building, causing “substantial” damage.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “Three men wearing masks attempted to steal a cash machine from the premises but left empty handed.

“The car left Lands End Way at speed with the boot still open and travelled towards the A606.

“If you saw the car prior to the incident, or immediately after, we would like to speak to you.”

Call police on 101, asking for DC 4596 Angela Hearnshaw. Crime number 15000131253.
