Celebrate 10th and final classic car and bike show
The 10th and final Bourne Classic Car and Bike Show will take place on the Wellhead Field on Sunday (June 21).
Bourne Motor Racing Club celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2006 and as part of the celebrations it held its first car show on Fathers’ Day.
The committee from Bourne Motor Racing Club, which organise the event, will bow out after this year’s event as their commitments have changed over the years.
Richard Bostock, from Bourne Motor Racing Club, said the committee was hopeful someone would come forward to take on the mantle.
This year’s special event will also be held on Fathers’ Day and as usual the aim of the show will be to provide a happy, relaxed atmosphere for all the family to enjoy a day out with no entry fee.
To celebrate the last show, there will be a centrepiece display looking back on a century of motoring which will highlight the development of the motor car, decade by decade. The club also plans to extend the display to look into the future of motoring too with an electric car on display.
The club has received more than 350 entries to this year’s show, which will also feature a display by the town’s BRM Association.
The show will also feature a flypast by the iconic Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and includes a variety of family attractions including craft stands, light refreshments, the ever popular Punch and Judy Show for the children and a varied music programme by The Collaborators.
Subject to ground conditions, limited on site parking will be available to the public for £2. The show runs form 10am until 4.30pm.
As well as the car show, Bourne’s Heritage Centre will be open during the day at Baldock’s Mill, and a vintage and craft fair is being held at the Darby and Joan Hall featuring vintage, retro and collectable gifts with vintage themed crafts.
Event programmes will be on sale. For more details, visit the website.
