A garden centre has donated hundreds of pounds to charity.

After counting up the pennies thrown into its water fountain by customers over the past year, Gates Nursery in Cold Overton has presented a cheque for £930 to Headway, a charity that works to improve life for people suffering from brain injuries.

Centre partner Kathy Gates presented the cheque to Simon Hales, of Langham, who regularly fundraises for the cause after he suffered a severe brain injury in 2009.

Kathy said: “It’s great to be able to support such a great cause.”
