Wreath-laying in Rutland marks the 100th anniversary of the University of Leicester

LEARN MOREPoppy wreaths have been laid in Rutland to mark the 100th anniversary of the University of Leicester.
The institution was founded in 1921 by businessman Thomas Fielding Johnson to create a living memorial for those who fought and died in the First World War.
Throughout last week, the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness, visited Oakham Castle and All Saints' Church, Oakham, to lay commemorative wreaths.
