PEOPLE will be able to buy a rose to help raise funds for a hospital.

Members of the League of Friends of Rutland Hospital, in partnership with Alexandra Rose Charities, will be walking along the streets of Oakham and Uppingham on June 22 and 23 to sell roses and collect money for Oakham’s Rutland Memorial Hospital.

Charity volunteer Sheila Day said: “With thanks to the generous support given by the people of Rutland we have been able to help the Rutland Memorial Hospital buy new reclining chairs and other essential equipment for the patients.

“Last year the team of volunteers raised a fantastic sum of £1,544. and this year we hope to do better.”

Money collected this year will go towards the refurbishment of the hospital’s courtyard garden.
