A CHARITY show organised by schoolchildren has been hailed a success.

Pupils from The Deepings School, in Park Road, Deeping St James, held the event called the Forget Me Not Concert on Friday, January 13, in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The school, in conjunction with Tesco in Market Deeping, has raised more than £1,000 for the society - which is also the store’s chosen charity of the year.

Tesco allowed pupils to bag pack to raise funds in advance of the show and also provided refreshments on the night.

The event was organised by Year 11 pupil Josh Hannen whose grandfather is suffering from the disease which is the most common cause of dementia.

Drama teacher Laura Driscoll said it went really well and added: “It was an unforgettable night.”
