Pre-school children from The Mulberry Bush Nursery in Uffington have paid a visit to the village hall to see the thatcher at work on the re-thatching of the roof.

The children were fascinated by the idea of covering the roof with ‘straw’ and were able to bring some back to use in their craft activities. One of the children said it looked as though “the village hall had gown a moustache and beard”.
