A FETE had its best year yet and raised £4,600 for church funds.
Singers from Leighfield Primary School entertained visitors to Lyddington Church fete, which was held on Saturday and opened by High Sheriff of Rutland Peter Lawson, who lives in the village.
During the day, there were stalls, a fun dog show and a display of vintage vehicles.
All 100 coconuts were won; all tombola prizes collected and all the cakes and jams were sold.
There were two cookery demonstrations given by Brian Baker from The Marquess of Exeter, as well as a barbecue.
Visitors also enjoyed the craft fair in the church and the village history society’s slide shows in the church and Bede House.
Committee member Barbara Taylor-Harris said: “It was a really lovely day. Raising money is of course all-important but the fete is a genuine community event.”
