Committee behind sheep fair call for support for charity
The Corby Glen Sheep Fair Committee has called on local people to join them in supporting The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
The committee is pleased to announce that the clay pigeon shoot at the 2014 Sheep Fair Event raised £500 for the air ambulance but wants to get more people involved and donating to a service that saves many lives in the region every year.
One of the organisers of the event Alan Bontoft said: “We’re really chuffed that our Sheep Fair Clay Pigeon Shoot raised so much money for this great cause.
“It’s testimony to the generosity of everyone involved.
“I’d like to thank all those who came to the shoot – participants, volunteers and sponsors alike.
“We are hoping they will get involved again at the next event and help us to meet our fundraising target of £1,000.”
Air ambulance representative Emma Young said: “The money raised at the sheep fair event is a fantastic contribution to our charity. Without such generosity we simply couldn’t fly. We’re really hoping that the next event does just as well, or even better!
“We’re very grateful to the organisers and all the donators.“
