Uppingham's community fridge project will help to reduce food waste

A new project aims to reduce food waste by re-distributing produce that would otherwise go to landfill.

Root-and-Branch Out will open a community fridge at Uppingham Town Hall next month stocking unwanted food from supermarkets and allotment holders.

It follows the success of a breakfast scheme at Uppingham CE Primary School which used unsold but perfectly edible food to provide breakfast for pupils and families twice a week.
