Concert by young singer to help church
A teenager classic soprano will give a fundraising concert in aid of St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Uppingham.
Katie Marshall, 14, who lives in Uppingham, will sing at the church on Saturday, May 9, at 7pm.
There will also be an organ solo by accompanist Ivan Linford as well as themed readings.
Katie has recently recorded an EP in London with Barney Smith from VOCES8 and has a duet on the EP with the double Grammy Award winning tenor Paul Phoenix from the King’s Singers. She also recorded Classic FM John Brunning’s Pie Jesu after he sent over the score for her. The EP also includes a song specially composed for her.
Katie will also be competing in the Oundle Festival and will be singing there tomorrow and Saturday.
Tickets for the church concert are available from Uppingham Sports and Books, on the door or from Richard Harris on 01572 822428.
Tickets are £10 for adults including wine and nibbles and accompanied children under 16 years are free.
Katie will be selling her EP on the night and the proceeds will go to the church fund.
