Anglian Water investigate a leak in Conduit Road, Stamford.

Lincolnshire County Council highways engineers will return to Conduit Road in Stamford next week to try to fix a leak.

Water rising from the ground froze over last week, causing two car accidents. The road has been closed to through traffic since then.

The leak has been a problem for some time, with no solution found. But engineers will begin work on Monday (January 31) to try to redirect the water into the council’s surface water drain.

Conduit Road will remain closed to through traffic until the work is completed. The council does not know how long it will take.
