Premier Ayston Convenience Store opens in Ayston Road, Uppingham




A couple have opened a new convenience store in Uppingham as the first step to setting up a new life.

The Premier Convenience Store opened in Ayston Road yesterday (Wednesday, August 25).

Owner Vithiya Charmelan previously ran a shop in Middlesborough but was keen to move away from the area to start a family.

She was instantly drawn to the market town, and is looking forward to serving its residents.

She said: “We wanted to move down south and when we came to see the shop. we loved the area and the people were friendly. I could picture us bringing up a family here.”

The shop stocks fresh food, drinks, household items and exclusive American candles as well as offering Paypoint, Payzone and parcel services.

Vithiya added: “We’ve got everything for people to do a full shop.”

The shop opens Monday to Saturday from 7am until 10pm, and on Sundays from 8am until 10pm.
