Coronavirus cases rise in Rutland and South Kesteven

Coronavirus cases confirmed by tests are continuing to rise in South Kesteven and Rutland.

Figures from Public Health England show that South Kesteven - which includes Stamford, Bourne and Grantham - has seen an increase in 201 cases since Wednesday last week (October 21), up from 1,041 cases to 1,242. The number of deaths recorded in the district is 54.

Across Lincolnshire a total of 6,736 cases have been recorded during the pandemic, with 1,178 people testing positive in the past seven days.


In Rutland a further 38 cases have been recorded over the past week, with 318 people who have tested positive since the start of the year.

The number of deaths in the county remains at 13.

The figures - which were released by Public Health England this afternoon (October 28) - do not include those who may have caught the virus and self-diagnosed.
