Coronavirus: Stamford Endowed School Swimming Pool to close

A swimming pool has closed temporarily because of coronavirus.

Stamford Endowed Schools sent out a message about its sports centre and pool facility in Conduit Road, telling people it would be shut from 5pm yesterday (Thursday).

It also cancelled all swim school lesson and the Easter sports camp, although the centre is investigating provision for the children of key workers.

In the statement, facilities manager Emma Hancock said: "We, as a school, are currently doing all that we can to minimise the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) within our schools and the wider community.

"Taking account of the Government’s advice, we feel that closure is the best thing to do for our students, staff and customers.

"We will be following the Government’s advice closely and hope to re-open after the Easter break – week commencing April 20."
