STAMFORD Town Council has agreed to postpone making a decision on the Riverside Festival until after the elections in May.

Councillors unanimously agreed at a meeting last night to defer a decision on whether to allow organisers of the Riverside Festival to use The Meadows for next year’s event.

Mayor David Brailsford put forward the suggestion at last night’s meeting. He had attended the festival’s public meeting on Saturday.

Councillors have also agreed to hold an informal meetings with the organisers before and after the elections.
