Council to give update on parking permits in Stamford

A council has promised to update Stamford residents on the status of their parking waivers in the coming weeks.

The temporary permits issued to town centre residents expire at the end of the year. Although South Kesteven district councillors have approved a permanent residents’ parking scheme, it will not be ready on January 1.

A council spokesman said: “Work on lines and signs for introduction of the new parking scheme are scheduled with some areas set to be completed by early January 2015.”

The spokesman said details about the temporary and permanent schemes would be made clear to residents through the pages of the Mercury “very soon”.
