Oakham Town Council is preparing to move from Victoria Hall to new offices in Long Row
Oakham Town Council is moving out of its offices in Victoria Hall to bigger premises.
The council has set aside £20,000 to pay for its move to Long Row, which is expected to happen by the end of May.
Mayor David Romney said it creates an opportunity for the council to offer a better service.
He said: "We have outgrown the premises in Victoria Hall and now is the right time to move.
"This will allow us to offer a better service. There is easier access and it will be a nicer environment for staff to work in and the council to meet in."
The new office has four parking spaces for staff and visitors to use.
The £20,000 will pay for electrical work and decorating at the new premises, and go towards restoring the space at Victoria Hall to its former state.
The trustees of Victoria Hall are now looking for new tenants.
The space available includes two rooms with an interconnecting door. The rooms measure 367 sq ft and 325 sq ft and can be rented together or individually.
Services will be included in the rent and there are flexible options for the length of tenancy.
