A1 northbound closed between Wansford and Water Newton with delays on A47 in Cambridgeshire
Friday afternoon traffic is being delayed for over an hour following a two-vehicle crash on the A1 this afternoon (September 10).
There are queues on the A1 northbound between Wansford and the A605 turn off near Orton Southgate with traffic travelling at an average speed of five mph.
One lane has been closed due to the crash resulting in five mile queues.
The AA news map indicates that there is heavy rain on the A1 at Water Newton and near Wittering, which could be adding to the delays.
The traffic jam has also caused severe delays of eleven minutes on the A47 Westbound in Cambridgeshire with the an average travel speed of 10 mph.
Drivers in the opposite direction are also facing delays as the A1 southbound at Alwalton has been closed due to a collision.
At Gonerby Moor, Grantham the A1 southbound is also closed following a three-vehicle collision including a tanker.
Three fire engines, police and the ambulance service are all currently at the scene. An air ambulance has also landed.
