Witness appeal following crash on the A1 at Wittering which left a Stamford woman and Peterborough man in hospital

Police have appealed for witnesses to a crash on the A1 at Wittering.

At just after 8.30pm on Saturday (May 8) a white Vauxhall Insignia was travelling southbound on the A1 when it left the road and hit a tree.

The driver, a woman in her 30s from Stamford, and the passenger, a man in his 30s from Peterborough, were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.


They both remain in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Cambridgeshire Police has issued an appeal for witnesses.

Anyone who saw the crash or the vehicle beforehand should contact police on 101 or via www.cambs.police.uk quoting incident number 501 of May 8.
