CRIME in Rutland has continued to fall, according to new figures released by Leicestershire Police Authority.
Overall crime in Rutland, Leicester and Leicestershire is down by 12.6 per cent already this year compared to last.
There has been a decrease in the number of incidents of violence against people, robbery and anti-social behaviour.
However, the number of burglaries has risen and user satisfaction has dropped to 84.7 per cent.
Authority chairman and Rutland county councillor Barrie Roper said: “On the whole we are very encouraged by the solid start to the year.
“However, it’s still early days and while we are pleased with the steep reductions made in some areas, there are other where we clearly could be performing better and it is our job as police authority members to get behind the data and find out exactly what the issues are.”
