Get catalytic converters engraved at security events

SECURITY marking events are being held to combat thefts of catalytic converters.

Police say 25 catalytic converters have been stolen from Bourne, the Deepings, Stamford and Witham-on-the-Hill and there have been 11 stolen from the Bourne area alone since Thursday last week.

They have organised a series of events for people to have their catalytic converters security engraved for free at garages, as well as issuing bright yellow warning stickers in the window telling potential thieves that the car is security marked.

Bush Tyres in Cherryholt Road, Bourne, will be holding its security marking event on Thursday between 1pm and 4.30pm, and again on Thursday, March 8.

Gary Walton Tyres in White Leather Square Industrial Estate in Billingborough is holding its event on Monday, March 5, between 1pm and 4.30pm.

Deeping Direct Deliveries in Towngate East, Market Deeping, will be holding its event on Wednesday between 2pm and 4.30pm.

People are asked to book for the security event at Hindmarch and Co in Uffington Road, Stamford, which takes place on Tuesday, March 6, from 2pm.

An event will be held at David Harby in Station Road, Little Bytham, on Friday, March 2, between 1pm and 4.30pm.
