Intruder disturbed in Belton garden

Police are appealing for witnesses after an intruder was disturbed in a garden.

Residents of a house in Main Street, Belton, heard noises in their back garden then saw a man running away and jumping over the fence at about 4.50am today (Friday).

Nothing was stolen during the incident.

Det Con Sam Bates, investigating the incident, said: “We would urge anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the Main Street area of Belton during the early hours of this morning to contact the police.

“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could help us move the investigation on.”
