One man has been arrested and another charged after alleged assaults in Stamford and Bourne.

An 18-year-old man was allegedly slashed with a knife while he sat with friends in Stamford Walk, off St Mary’s Street, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was taken to hospital with facial injuries. A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

And a 35-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested after a fight at The Burghley Arms in Bourne that same night.

He has since been charged with assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

He has been bailed to appear at Spalding Magistrates Court on August 15.
