RESIDENTS have been warned of a man posing as a police officer making door-to-door calls.
A man dressed in a fluorescent yellow jacket with “Police” printed on it called at a house in Blackthorn Way, Bourne, between 4.30pm and 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday).
Police say he asked to speak to a particular person, but ran off once it became apparent that person did not live at the address.
The man is described as between 5ft 2in and 5ft 4in, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a foreign accent.
Sector inspector for Bourne, Stamford and the Deepings Mike Burnett said: “This is quite rare in this area. I would urge people to check the identity of any callers. Police will always carry a warrant card.”
Call police on 101 with any information on the bogus officer.
