POLICE are appealing for a dog owner to come forward after a 38-year-old man was bitten last week.

The incident happened in Welland Way at about 2.10pm on Monday, December 12, when the man was bitten on the hand by a boxer dog that was being walked by a woman.

The dog was on a lead at the time of the incident but the bite required hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Adam Ploszczanski said: “The woman walking the dog did offer to help the man and leave her details at the time of the incident but due to shock the man didn’t accept them.

“I would like to talk to the woman and would ask her to call us and help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1681 Adam Ploszczanski by calling 101.

Follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer, and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
