Police appeal after man attacked in Oakham

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched to the floor and kicked by two men in Oakham.

The unprovoked assault happened at about 11.30pm on Sunday in Catmose Street.

The first man is described as a white, about 5’10” tall, of muscular build, aged between 25 to 30 years and wearing a light grey short sleeved T-Shirt. The second male was white, also aged between 25 to 30 years and was wearing a dark coloured shirt.

Oakham PC Joe Lloyd said: “I am appealing to drivers of vehicles and members of public who were in the area of Catmose Street on Sunday evening and might have seen an altercation to come forward with what they saw. This was an unprovoked attack and after viewing CCTV in the area I am sure that someone would have seen the incident.”
