Police crackdown on Rutland drivers

Have your say

THIS driver was pulled over yesterday in Oakham as part of a police road safety campaign.

The police were cracking down on motorists who drink and drive, use a mobile phone at the wheel, break the speed limit or don’t wear their seat belts.

It is part of an ongoing Department for Transport campaign tackle drivers who commit one of the four most common offences involved in fatal road accidents.

Officers were stopping drivers in Lands’ End Way, Oakham, and the bypass, with everyone who was pulled over asked to complete a roadside safety awareness survey.
