IRON gratings have been stolen from a road.

A total of 12 gulley gratings were taken from near the railway bridge on the A6003 in Manton between 6pm on August 17 and 9.30am on August 18.

The gratings are made of cast iron and measure 18in by 18in.

Investigating officer PC Paul Anderson said: “Due to the number of gratings taken, it may have taken more than one person to carry them and a vehicle to remove them from the location.

“If you can recall anyone acting suspiciously in the area from Friday evening through to Saturday morning or remember seeing someone loading this property onto a vehicle in Manton, please get in touch.”

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 1921.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
