Police have appealed for witnesses after thieves stole fireplace surrounds and stained glass windows from a house.

The burglary happened in Princes Road, Stamford, between October 14 and 25. Thieves broke in through a ground floor window, unscrewed a door with stained glass windows and removed ornate fireplace surrounds.

The house was empty at the time so police do not know exactly when the burglary happened.

A spokesman said: “The items are reasonably unique and officers would like to hear from anyone in the area, or further afield, who might have seen any of the pictured items being offered for sale. It is possible they could have been taken to antiques fairs, car boot sales, or put up for sale online, or similar.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time is also asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 186 of October 10.

Police are also investigating an attempt to break into garden sheds in Alexander Terrace, Bourne, between October 22 and 24. Call 101 quoting incident 130 of October 24.
