Tools stolen from a van in Bourne

THIEVES broke into a van and stole power tools.

Police are warning motorists not to leave tools in their vans after a transit van was broken into Mill Drove, Bourne, on Sunday night.

Thieves removed a side door lock to get into the van.

Police community support officer Eamonn McLean, of Bourne and Billingborough neighbourhood beat team, is warning motorists.

In a statement he said: “Please can items of value please be removed from vehicles when left unattended even if they are not visibly on view.

“Work tools can be a huge loss to tradesmen as it isn’t just the loss of the tools but also the impact of loss of earnings.”
