Woman charged with grevious bodily harm following stabbing in Corby Glen

A 68-year-old woman has appeared in court following the stabbing of a 70-year-old man in Corby Glen on Friday night.

Maureen Handy, of Walsingham Drive, Corby Glen, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and appeared at Grantham Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday).

No plea was entered and the case was committed to Lincoln Crown Court on November 25. Handy was granted conditional bail and the court ordered her to not enter Corby Glen, not speak to John Handy or Lauren Handy, and report to Grantham police station between 10am and 2pm every day.

The victim, who suffered a single stab wound, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by ambulance where he remains following the incident which happened at about 6pm in Walsingham Drive. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

The investigating officer is Det Insp Pete Grayson. He is appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to contact him via the 101 non-emergency telephone number quoting the above incident number 388 of November 8, 2013.
