Crowds of people are set to turn out for a French style antiques fair in Uppingham.

Preparations are taking place for the event, which is being held for the second time in the town on Sunday.

More than 35 dealers are expected to hold stalls selling antiques and collectables in Mercer’s Yard car park in North Street East and outside Rutland Antiques Centre in Crown Yard.

The day is being organised by Uppingham Town Partnership and members are hoping for it to be even more popular and successful than last year’s event.

Partnership chairman Marc Oxley said: “Following on from last year’s very successful event, we are confident that this year’s will be even better.

“It is an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors alike to see what Uppingham has to offer by way of art galleries and antique shops.”

The event runs from 10am to 5pm.

All shops in the town are set to remain open throughout the day.
