POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was knocked off his bike in Morcott on Saturday.
The incident happened at 9am on the A47 and involved a cyclist and a grey or blue Renault Laguna.
Both the cyclist and car were travelling towards Peterborough. The car did not stop at the scene.
The 49-year-old cyclist had serious facial injuries and was taken to Northampton Hospital, but has since been discharged.
Investigating officer PC Nige Whitehorn said: “We are obviously keen to speak to anyone who was driving though the area at the time of the incident and saw the collision take place, or saw either the car or the bike in the moments leading to it.
“Please think back, were you in this area on Saturday morning? Did you see a car driving off from the scene? Any information could help with our inquiries.”
