TWO talented ballerinas from Bourne took part in the biggest performance of their lives last weekend when they danced in a professional production of Swan Lake.
Emma Coupland, 15, and Kezia Smith, 14, performed with the English Youth Ballet in three performances of a new adaptation of Swan Lake at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.
The girls, who are members of the Welland School of Dancing in Stamford, were selected from more than 350 hopefuls at an audition in March. Bourne Grammar School pupil Emma played the role of a Tall Swan, while Bourne Academy pupil Kezia danced as a Royal Courtier.
Emma said: “It was amazing, we got such a good response from the audience and it was almost sold out for each of the three performances.”
