DAREDEVILS were taking to the sky at an annual cricket fun day to raise funds for charity.
More than 40 bungee jumpers took part in a 175 ft plunge at Billingborough Cricket Club on bank holiday Monday in aid of disability charity Whizz Kidz.
The event also featured the annual cricket six-a-side tournament, which was won by last year’s winners Indian takeaway Chilli Hut, as well as a falconry display, a German shepherd rescue show and charity stalls.
More than 1,200 people attended the event.
Funds are still being counted but event organiser and club player Dave Newman hopes to have raised more than £1,000 for the charity which aims to give disabled children the chance to lead more independent lives.
He said: “The whole day was superb.
“There were just people jumping for the hell of it, knowing it was all for a good cause and that was great to see. They just didn’t stop.
“We’re hoping it’s going to be even bigger next year.”
Dave also took part in the jump himself.
He added: “You see everyone jumping off and think that’s not a problem and then you get a bit of a shock when you get to the top. But then once I jumped it was fantastic and you want to do it all again.”
