An art festival will launch this year’s Rutland Open Studios.
Art in the Making Festival will take place on June 1 and 2 at the White Horse pub in Morcott.
The festival celebrates the original concept of Open Studios, where artists from Rutland and surrounding counties hold exhibitions of their work.
This time, artists will still be opening their studios or sharing exhibition space throughout June but the festival will also bring many of them together in one place to demonstrate an array of disciplines from raku firing, pottery, stone carving, pen and watercolour, animal portraiture, felt making and oil painting.
The festival will be free to visit and there will be lots of activities to give adults and children the opportunity to try these techniques for themselves.
There will also be live musical entertainment from classical to folk to jazz and there will also be an exhibition of paintings and 3D work on display and for sale at Morcott Village Hall, with tea and cakes courtesy of the Morcott Village Ladies Club.
The White Horse pub will also be hosting a barbecue on the Saturday and a hog roast on the Sunday.
