Deadline nears to find Lincolnshire’s green heroes
There are less than two weeks left to nominate the most environmentally friendly communities, schools and businesses for an annual, countywide award.
Renowned naturalist Dr David Bellamy is leading the judging panel for The Lincolnshire Environmental Awards 2017 for which the closing date to enter is Friday, March 31.
The awards, organised by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Lindum Rotary Club, Lincoln, recognise hard work and enthusiasm for improving the environment across the county, including South Holland.
Roger Pavey, Chairman of the Awards Committee, said: “It’s doesn’t come naturally to put ourselves forward for awards but hopefully some of you will consider entering The Lincolnshire Environmental Awards 2017.”
“Perhaps you, or someone you know, is doing some exceptional environmental work or you are part of a community group improving your local patch for wildlife and for people.
“Does the company you work for encourage recycling and car sharing or does your children’s school has been busy setting up wildlife areas?
“If any of this sounds familiar or you know of any communities, businesses, farmers and schools which deserve
recognition for their hard work and enthusiasm in improving our environment, then we would like to hear from you.”
To enter, simply nominate in between 200 and 300 words and send it, together with a name, telephone number and email address, to Lincolnshire Environmental Awards, c/o Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Banovallum House, Manor House Street, Horncastle, LN9 5HF.
