A DEADLINE to apply for sports funding is fast approaching.
Lincolnshire sports clubs, leisure centres, schools and organisations involved in promoting sport for young people aged 14-25 have a month to apply for a share of the latest cash from the Sportivate programme, managed by Sport England and delivered through the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.
Since the scheme began last July more than 110 projects have received £80,000, money which has mainly funded sports sessions for children and young people.
Lucy Blakey of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, says: “Nearly £400,000 is available to encourage semi-sporty teenagers and young adults to take part in sport over the next four years. It also provides a financial incentive to deliver more sport across Lincolnshire.”
Applicants should consider £40 per head for six to eight weeks of sport sessions as a guide and projects aimed at minority groups, such as women, girls or the disabled, are being encouraged.
The deadline is Friday, May 18. Application forms can be downloaded from www.lincolnshiresports.com/sportivate or ring Lucy on 01522 585580.
