Dear readers. . . . we’re revamping your Mercury and we want your help

Have your say

On October 5 the Rutland and Stamford Mercury is going to be relaunched.

It’s going to be fresher, brighter and include new features on top of our usual offering of all your local news from the Stamford, the Deepings, Bourne and Rutland area.

It’s been a while since we’ve updated your 300-year-old newspaper but given this momentous year we feel it’s probably the right time to do it.

Using our existing market research we’ve taken a clean look at the Mercury and developed ideas to improve it.

But we’re not going to stop there. We will be looking to make further improvements over the coming months and we want readers’ help.

What parts of the Mercury do you like, what do you not like? Is there anything else you would like to see in the Mercury?

We will be keeping our newspaper newsy, but we will also be adding a regular feature, revamping our What’s On section and expanding our Memories section to make the most of our unique 300-year-old archive.

We will be shining the spotlight on local bands to boost our coverage of the local music scene. These are just for starters and we are aiming to add more as we go through this period of change.

The Mercury’s website will continue to break local news as it happens and as part of this relaunch we will be adding more and more content to it.

We want your comments on stories, your views, your feedback to make the website and newspaper a richer experience.

If you enjoy your Mercury, now is the chance to help make it better than ever.

We cannot guarantee we will implement all your ideas, but each one will be considered carefully as part of this whole process.
