Author Debbie Daly hosted a workshop for children at Deepings Library on Saturday and it proved to be a great success.

She read a chapter from her latest book before inviting the children there to imagine what might happen next, either through words or pictures. Helen Morgan, from the library, said the event was a big success.

She said: “Local authors are a big inspiration - it makes writing seem more accessible to youngsters.”

Helen is keen for more local authors to appear at the library and on September 10, Will Hussey will be there presenting vcertificates to children who have completed the summer reading challenge and running a writing workshop. Children can still sign up to the summer reading challenge by visiting the library.
