Opposition halts decision on Deepings day nursery

A proposed day nursery in Deeping St James was withdrawn from the agenda of last week’s meeting of South Kesteven District Council’s planning committee.

Members heard this was due to opposition from the fire service, though no further details were given.

The applicant, Peterborough-based Carousel Nursery Ltd, seeks to demolish redundant abattoir buildings on land to the back of 10 Bridge Street, Deeping St James, and then build the nursery.

Committee members are to decide on the application after Deeping St James councillor Phil Dilks ‘called in’ the proposal citing highway safety concerns.

The application will now come before the committee at a later date.
