There’s no time for monkeying around if you have the skills needed to give a baby spider monkey a new home at the Exotic Pet Refuge in Deeping St James.

The charity is building a new house for its spider monkeys but is behind deadline and could lose vital funding if the task is not completed on time.

Pam Mansfield, owner of the refuge, secured funding from the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust to replace a dilapidated spider monkey house with a new one, which is especially needed following the surprise birth of Stephie, pictured above.

The refuge now needs volunteers to help with jobs such as putting melamine on the walls, installing doors and moving the old cage. If you would like to be a volunteer, call 01778 345923 or email exoticpetrefuge@aol.com or visit an open day on Sunday, July 19, between 10am and 4pm.
