Deepings Raft Race will have a Mardi Gras theme

One of the Deepings’ biggest events will be held this weekend.

Teams from two to eight people will be racing their homemade rafts in the Mardi Gras/carnival-themed Deepings Raft Race on Sunday, August 4.

For the younger children, mini rafts built from recycled materials will be on display in Tesco Market Deeping, along with the school banner competition entries.

There is no charge for spectators. Shuttle buses will run from the car park in Godsey Lane and stalls and rides will line the High Street. Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Peterborough Air Training Corps (Air Cadets), Deeping United Football Club and Deaf Blind UK will benefit from this event. www.deepingsraftrace.co.uk
