Traffic was held up after a crash on the A1 southbound between Stamford and the A47 junction at Wansford.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.42am today (January 18) to reports of a collision on the A1 at the A47 Wansford roundabout.

“The collision involved a Vauxhall Insignia. It is not believed anyone was injured during the incident.”

The crash appears to only have involved the Vauxhall. There were tailbacks past Stamford and delays of about 40 minutes, but the road has now cleared.
