Diabetes specialist Dr Hamid Mani speaks to member of the Rotary Club of Uppingham about type 1 an type 2 diabetes

Uppingham resident Dr Hamid Mani, a diabetes specialist, enthralled the members of the Rotary Club of Uppingham last week in the Oak room of The Falcon Hotel with a presentation on type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Hamid and his family are Neighbourhood Forum volunteers and also assist each year with the Stilton Cheese Classic Vehicle Run.

Current president Ron Simpson BEM, already diagnosed with type 2, said at the close of the evening: “This was an outstanding ‘tour de force’ on the origins, heritage, treatment and prevention of diabetes, a first class presentation founded on a series of questions posed by the club membership.
